My pursuit of my Achan’s dream – the 1st trip – July 2017 – Leh-Ladakh, around 11480 ft…
In July 2017, I embarked on my first trip. It was to Leh-Ladakh, which is a cold desert. I visited Pangong Lake and the Zanskar river. Nubra Valley has a scenery on grand scale with Sand dunes, Mountains, Water & Double Humped Camel .The drive from Leh to Nubra leaves you simply awestruck. Same as explained by Achan years back during one of our walks even before movie 3Idiots had come up. Driving past Nubra Valley listening to serene unplugged favourite songs left me with the question – why had I not considered traveling to the mountains earlier?
It was a beautiful soul filled experience. I made friends with complete strangers who had now become my travel buddies. The Leh-Ladakh trip opened a new door of adventure for me, a door that led me away from the city’s concrete jungle and into a land of mountains, rivers, and people of different backgrounds. I listened intently to the hundreds of stories that people shared with me.
