My pursuit of my Achan’s dream – 29th Trip Gaumukh Tapovan Trek – Altitude 14202ft -14th Sep to 21st Sep 2019
Trek to Tapovan will be very close to my heart as this is where it all started back in July 2017. Achan always wanted to see source of Ganga ( Gaumukh)& Shark Fin’s mountain Meru.
I had got scared looking at the altitude & thought of doing Roopkund trek just to get a hang of it. I was the slowest trekker of my batch. I never knew back then trekking would become a passion for me & change my world for the best.
The views of Shivling and Meru were spectacular from the campsite at Tapovan. The trek from Bhojbasa to Tapovan is difficult but it is worth the spectacular view seen from the top. We had to do a zip line crossing over river which was an adventure of its kind.
Our Trek Leader was Samkit Jain who was passionate about trekking & helped me with all tips & last minute preparation needed from my next longest trek.
This happened to be my 16th trek with India Hikes and it has become a family for me in just 2 years.
I don’t know lot of things yet about trekking and I am still learning with each trek I do.
