My pursuit of my Achan’s dream – the 18thh Trip – Deoriatal & Chandrashila Trek
Altitude 12083ft -10th Mar to 15th Mar 2019
I was looking forward for this trek from a long time, Deoriatal has the best forest trail and it’s a pleasure to walk through these jungle trails. Deoria tal is an emerald lake with lush green surroundings which is a treat for your eyes. This trek included visit to tunganath which is the highest shiva temple along with stay in Chopta which is called Mini Switzerland.
From chandrashila peak we get to see stunning views of Nanda Devi, Mt Trishul , Mt NandaGhunti ,Mt Kamet, Mt Dunagiri , Mt Chaukhamba.
It was a fun snow trek wherein enjoyed rolling and sliding in snow. The highlight was the people whom I met in this trek .There were a group of Friends from IIM who came for a trek after their college life before they parted ways to move forward in life in their respective career. We had two ladies who were friends from childhood and had come from gulf just for this trek and celebrate their years of togetherness.
It reminds me of quote: – Life may change but the bond remains and grows stronger with time
Our Trek leader was Gautam a scholar in yoga who inspired us in every way to live simple life. I met a girl from Mumbai Preeti who was pursuing a career in managing waste in mountain & learnt so much from her which I could implement in my city life.
My takeaways were
Learning about innovative ideas about managing plastic waste which we generate on a regular basis. My reason of carrying a steel dhaba,cup and bottle wherever I go.
J&K of Growth mindset which I learnt was learning is a journey & keeping an open mind is the only way new things can get in.
